Wedding Planner Myths Busted

“Hiring a wedding planner costs too much.”
False. What a lot of couples don’t realize is that a professional and well received wedding planner will have many connections and has established many relationships within the wedding industry. The planners at The Wedding League listen to the needs of the bride and groom and will only match them with vendors who will fit their budgets and personality. For example, maybe when the wedding planner was first starting out she met a photographer who was also just opening a business and they started a professional friendship. Now years later when both are successful and charging what they are worth the planner’s clients may still get that same “start up cost” from the photographer because of the relationship she has built. More times than not the wedding planner ends up paying for herself because of all the relationships she has created.

“Once I hire a wedding planner she will completely take over and I will lose all control of my wedding.”
False. The Wedding League prides itself on truly listening to the bride and groom. We hear everything they say and therefore create a program that is specifically unique to them. No two weddings are the same because they come from the minds of the couple, not the company. You are our goddess and we are your golden chariot. “Wedding Coordinators, Wedding Planners, and Wedding Consultants are all different”
True. Though they are very similar, by definition they are all different. Coordinating, planning, and consulting are all parts of what your planner can offer you. Some planners use these titles interchangeably while others will only coordinate but not plan the whole thing. The Wedding League covers all three of those parts.

1. We coordinate by being there on the day of the wedding and directing it. We coordinate with all the vendors so everyone is on the same page for your wedding so that it flows that much smoother.

False. Here at The Wedding League there is no way for two weddings to look the same. A wedding isn’t just a standard event. Our Recipe for Fabulousness: We are extremely excited about the programs we have created for our couples. Each program brings in each of the seven ingredients we use to create a Wedding League Event: Planning, Coordination, Design, Media, Single to Spouse, Image Consultant, and Supporting Cast.

The worksheets, templates, and workshops we do in our planning section will allow us to move gracefully. Instead of constantly bumping into walls, we have created systems that make planning a wedding simple and smooth.

The years of establishing relationships have helped us to better coordinate the wedding day. The day of is full of many different people coming from all over and it is important to have someone there they can turn to. We make sure everyone is where they should be by directing all activities in a delicate dance; and The Wedding League has perfected the dance moves.

Design & décor of a wedding is a huge chunk of what will make this event stand out as your own. By bringing in pieces of your personality in a creative way, we twist, weave, and produce a fabulous outcome. Each program with design elements in it starts with a décor meeting that ends up being the favorite out of all our get togethers. This meeting lets the couple be themselves and reminds them of why they are getting married in the first place.

We also have created ways to bring the media into your wedding to add to your celebrity status. By submitting your wedding to favorite magazines or creating a virtual wedding, we have found it easy to propel you to super stardom in the bridal world (or even in just your own world).

One area of an engagement is very rarely talked about but here we face it full on: the transition from single to spouse. Everyone talks about how joyous it is to be engaged and to be married.
